New York Helicopter Crash Kills Six
On Thursday afternoon, a sightseeing helicopter that crashed in the Hudson River killed all six aboard, including its pilot and an entire family from Spain. Authorities recovered some personal items and personal effects from the water but major components are yet to be located.
At 3pm from a Manhattan heliport, a helicopter took flight and flew up the western side of New York before turning around near George Washington Bridge before collapsing near its southern approach. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation; however no cause of the accident has been officially released by authorities as yet.
The victims included a Siemens executive, his wife, and three of their four children ages 4, 8, and 10 from Puertollano in central Spain – she worked at Siemens Mobility while her husband held an executive post within Siemens Rail Infrastructure division – who were in New York on business.
